There are many of you who love your tools just as much as you enjoy your woodworking. We all have things in our workshop that we love just for their design or cleverness as much as for their function. There is a real pride in ownership of fine tools that adds to the quality of the work you produce. The Japanese Shokunin (Artisans) have a concept of being worthy of your tools. When you pick up a Veritas® NX60 Block plane or a Suminagashi chisel, you cannot help but be lifted by its quality, which in turn makes you try that little bit harder.

With superb tool brands such as Veritas®, Leigh®, Pfeil®, Festool®, CMT® and our beautiful range of Japanese woodworking tools and knives, Carba-Tec® works hard to bring you fine tools from Australia and all over the world. We realise that there are times when you are buying on a budget and other times when you set out to purchase the best quality tool on the market. Either way, a walk around the showroom of a Carba-Tec® store never fails to inspire anyone who has ever thought of making something from wood. If you are new to Carba-Tec® - welcome! We hope our assortment of goodies for Father's Day whets your appetite and inspires you to purchase a tool for yourself or your Dad that is practical, well-made and value for money.

We see a lot of people looking for gifts to keep their fathers happy in the workshop. It can be difficult to choose what to buy if you aren't a woodworker yourself, so in this Focus edition we have included some suggestions at a range of price points that will suit everyone from the piggybank saver upwards. If you want to leave the choice to Dad, our new gift cards are beautifully presented and take the guesswork out of your choice. However, be warned that leaving Focus around may result in a few items being mysteriously underlined to steer you in the right direction!

Our head office and distribution centre in Brisbane has now fully moved and our new showroom is open for business. The new complex includes state-of-the-art warehousing facilities as well as a massive machinery display area and fully air-conditioned showroom housing our fine tools, books, DVDs and specialty items.

Moving proved to be a massive job, but we were determined to remain open and continue trading so as to create a minimum of inconvenience to our customers. We are aware that during this time some of you experienced some problems with service and delivery. We sincerely apologise for this and thank you for your patience. The initial response from those of you who have called in to our new store has been very positive and we feel very proud to be able to show off our new facilities.
