This benchtop mortiser provides the huge benefit of lateral (side to side Y-axis) and longitudinal (front to back X axis) table adjustment. You can now move your workpiece accurately in small increments rather than moving it by hand and having to jig and shim the material to fit it into correct drilling position. Both the table and the motor head travel on dovetail shaped guides. Adjustable jib strips are fitted to ensure years of accurate use. A gas strut provides counterbalance to the weight of the head and motor. Stops are provided for both vertical and horizontal movements for repeat work. Supplied with one 3/8" chisel.
