The Veritas low-angle jointer is the latest and largest member of Veritas' bevel-up bench plane family. At 559 x 73mm, it is the answer for jointing edges and flattening large panels. The bevel-up configuration results in a plane that is versatile and straightforward to use.
The 12° bed angle coupled with the 25° blade bevel creates an effective cutting angle of 37°. By simply increasing the blade bevel you can cut at higher angles for better performance in more difficult-grained woods.
A 25° blade is supplied with each plane but it will accept 38° and 50° bevels as well. The 2-1/4" wide blade is 3/16" (4.8mm) thick an is made of A2 tool steel that is hardened to Rc60-62. An adjustable throat plate allows a wide range of mouth adjustment. Veritas' unique stop-screw retains mouth settings while preventing blade damage when removing and replacing blades. Weight: 3.82kg.
