Veritas® dovetail and crosscut saws are an innovative blend of tradition and technology. They incorporate all of the critical characteristics of a classic fine joinery saw, yet are executed using modern production processes and state-of-the-art materials. The blade and stainless-steel handle mounting bolt on each is completely over-moulded, creating a solid one-piece blade/spine/mount assembly. A single brass fastener secures the bubinga handle. These saws have excellent balance, cut easily and true and have a comfortable pistol grip that makes the saw feel as if it’s an extension of your arm. All blades are 0.020" (0.5mm) thick, high-carbon steel blade set 0.003" (.07mm) per side and 9 1/4" long; saws are 14-1/4" (361.9mm) long overall. Depth of cut is about 19/16" (30mm). Patent pending.
Veritas® Premium Crosscut Saw
Filed with alternating bevel angles that sever rather than tear wood fibres for clean cuts in cross-grain applications, Veritas' crosscut saw has 16 teeth per inch. The teeth have 15° rake and bevel angles. Weight: approx 500g.
Veritas® Premium Dovetail Saws
Veritas' dovetail saws feature rip-cut teeth that have a rake angle of 14° and an included angle of 60°, providing a good balance between cutting action and surface finish. The 14 tpi dovetail is most efficient with stock thicker than 1/2", while the less aggressive cut of the 20 tpi version is best for stock under 1/2" thick.
