Hanger Bolts
Shown as items listed under 'A' in the image at left. These have a wood screw on one end and machine threads on the other. Overall lengths are shown below. They require a pre-drill between 5.5mm and 6mm, depending on the material. For flush mounting or joining material, use the steel insert hanger bolt (shown as 'B' in the image at left). This is 1-1/2" (38mm) overall with a 3/4" (19mm) long external screw thread and a 1/2" (12.7mm) deep internal machine thread. It requires a pilot hole from 17/64" (6.9mm) to 9/32" (7.1mm) in diameter. All types are sold in bags of 10.
T-Nuts and Propel Nuts
T-Nuts are shown as items 'C', 'D' and 'E' in the image at left. These are used for various applications. Generally, 3-prong T-nuts are used for plywood, 4-prong T-nuts are used for hard or soft wood and 6 prong T-nuts are used for soft materials and composites. Propel nuts (shown as item 'F' in the image at left) excel in applications where there is a danger of splitting, either due to material hardness or material thickness. They are also good for end-grain applications, such as leveller feet. The T-nuts have 3/4" diameter flanges with a 5/16" barrel height and a 7/32" prong height. The propel nut has a 3/4" flange and a 9/16" barrel height. A 5/16" pre-drill is recommended for both. Sold in bags of 10.
Brass Nuts, Bolts and Inserts
Shown as items listed under 'G' to 'O' in the image at left. These screws and threaded inserts are ideal for projects where you want brass hardware but still want knock-down convenience. Slot head machine screws are available with either a round head (RH designation) or flat head (FH designation). Lengths and pack quantities are listed below. The knurled screws have 3/4" long threads. With knife-edge external threads for a secure hold, insert nuts require a 3/8" pre-drilled hole. Speed nuts are cross-drilled to move along a threaded rod without turning it - their threads do not engage until they meet the end, then they can be tightened. The threaded rod comes in 24" (610mm) lengths.
