This year we held our first ever Family Christmas Decoration Making Day where children could come along and assemble, decorate and take home their very own wooden Christmas Decoration. The day was a great success across all 4 participating stores (Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide & Sydney) with 148 children attending the event and creating a fantastic buzz and Christmas atmosphere in-store.
The event, which was specially designed with little hands in mind, aimed to not only to be fun for children but also to introduce and inspire them to create beautiful unique items from wood.
Each decoration was pre-cut using a Scroll Saw and cutting templates. The Children then sanded each piece and assembled the pieces with out the use of glues or nails. Then it was on to decorating. Under the supervision of parents and Carbatec staff, there was a range of materials to choose from to make their own unique decoration for the Christmas Tree, including:
