Featured Authors

Morris Lake, is the author of Rainforest Woods, published this year by CSIRO. Morris is an all-round wood and tree species expert, a member of the International Wood Collectors Society and a passionate advocate for the conservation of what is left of the earth’s forests. He is also an engaging speaker.

Terry Martin, author most recently of The Creative Woodturner, has written several other titles and literally hundreds of articles relating to wood and the people who use it creatively. Terry has an international reputation as a curator of exhibitions and collaborative events and has spoken at more symposiums than most of us will ever attend in a lifetime. Terry is also an entertaining speaker.

Dick Lynch is a Titan chisel collector extraordinaire, who early this year self-published a beautifully produced 320 page volume, Collecting Titan Chisels. His book documents the history of a great Australian brand and is at the same time a manifesto on the science of tool collecting. Dick has also had a very diverse and intriguing professional life that he may also be drawn to speak about.

Raf Nathan is well known to Wood Review readers for the steady stream of reviews and projects he has written for the magazine since it first appeared in 1992. Two collections of his projects have been published, Handmade Furniture Projects I and Handmade Furniture Projects II. Raf is definitely a woodworker who likes to share his woodworking experience with others.

Linda Nathan is the founding and current editor of Australian Wood Review. Linda has always loved writing about wood and the people who source and use it. While Linda must embrace the opportunities of our digital age, she still firmly believes in the currency of the printed word and the need to promote books and magazines.

Vic Tesolin is the author of The Minimalist Woodworker, a former editor of Canadian Woodworking magazine and will soon be visiting Australia in his capacity as Technical Expert for Veritas Tools. Vic is a furniture maker who has taught widely and writes in his new book how woodworking is accessible to all, even those who may feel they lack the space and finance to make it happen. Wood Review Writers Festival comes at the start of the Veritas Downunder 2016 Tour, details of which can be found in the related link to the right of this web page.
