The ever-popular Nova Comet II Lathe has had an upgrade!
This quality midi lathe by Nova has had a refresh - featuring a new aesthetic that fits well with their top-of-the-line Orion, but now includes a very useful Digital Speed Readout for the Electronic Variable Speed settings. Located on the headstock, the constant read system provides live speeds, visible at a glance while you work. Having a digital readout allows you to return to your favourite speeds for certain jobs and learn what works best for you.

The powerful Electronic Variable Speed Motor offers an RPM range from 250 to 4000 RPM, over three belt ranges, at the twist of a dial. The middle pulley step usually provides enough range for most Wood Turning applications, while the additional 2 steps provide more torque for the more demanding and specific applications. The range of speed and power make this lathe the perfect choice for a variety of smaller projects, from pens and peppermills to bowls.
A 305mm (12") Swing Capacity over bed provides good scope for bowls and platters on a midi lathe, while the 419mm (16.5") between centres covers many small craft spindle projects. The distance between centres is extendable to 1065mm (42") with the optional bed extension accessory TK-47001.
A 1" x 8" Spindle thread supports the Nova range of chucks and accessories and both headstock and tailstock are fitted with Morse 2 Tapers. We recommend the purchase of a Nova G3 or SN2 chuck, to get the most from your woodturning experience. The lathe comes with a Drive Center, Live Center and 4" Direct thread Faceplate.
A Forward and Reverse Switch offers additional flexibility and allows you to achieve a superior finish.
