IN-STORE WOODWORKING DEMONSTRATION SCHEDULE
Carbatec holds free in-store woodworking demonstrations presented by local professional woodworkers.

The demonstrations are designed to show you new techniques, ideas and products to help you get the most out of your woodworking while being able to interact with the demonstrators. So whether you are new to woodworking and want to learn the basics or you are an experienced woodworker wanting to expand your skills – there will be a demonstration of interest to you.

Tony Foord will take you through how to carve a spoon with hand chisels, spokeshaves, drawknives and files. All materials supplied. Positions are limited, so first in best dressed. Open to all ages.

Stephen Walker will show you how to use the Kreg foreman and its different applications.

Bruce Sharp will have lots of pre-cut components that kids and parents can have fun putting together. So bring the kids and make a spinning top, a pencil case or even decorate a house! There will also be lollies on the table.

Liam Munich will demonstrate how to use the different Kreg Pocket Hole Jigs and how to make a small stool.

Luke Skilton will demonstrate the safety aspects of the Sawstop and the effectiveness and efficiency of the Carbatec 15" Spiral Head Thicknesser whilst dressing down reclaimed pallet timber.

8:30am - 12:30pmTURNING A SALT AND PEPPER MILL
Tim Chen will demonstrate how to turn a 12 inch long red gum mill on a lathe based on Carbatec's ceramic salt and pepper mill mechanism. He will guide you step by step procedure of drilling, mounting a blank, and turning using basic chisels and eventually finish with food safe oil. He will then shape the salt and pepper mill to any shape or form (a beer bottle shape, a slim line wine bottle etc).

Tim Jacobs will show you how to use a scroll saw to do fretwork, preparation and the finished product.

Tim Skilton will guide you through this hands on demonstration in making your own honey dipper. He will be showing you the materials, tools and techniques. This takes roughly 40 minutes. Spots are limited so call in to get your spot (8362 9111). Students must have long hair tied up, closed in shoes and no loose clothing.

Ross McDowell will show a gallery of his recent work, and demonstrate the products and techniques used to achieve the results shown. Customers will be able to try their hand at some of the techniques, whilst under guidance. Ask any finishing questions you'd like.
