The main advantage of two-stage cyclone collectors is that heavier dust particles and chips fall out of the airflow before reaching the impeller, unlike single-stage units where these particles pass through the impeller and start clogging the filter medium. Our cyclones remove particles as fine as 0.2 to 2 microns in size from an astonishing 99.9% of the air flowing through the unit’s filter cartridge. Cyclones are also inherently quiet.
Both of our machines feature infrared on/off remote controls for safety and convenience as well as backward inclined steel impellers. Both machines’ cartridge filters are fitted with an internal cleaning brush that requires just a few strokes of cartridges pull handles. This means significantly greater ease of use when compared to single stage dust collectors.
The main chip collection bin collects approximately 98% of the waste material ingested while the remaining 2% drops into the plastic collection bag underneath the filter cartridge. The collection bin rolls on castors for easy waste removal and disposal.
Two models are available:
CT-702 2hp / 240volt Two Stage Cyclone Dust Extractor
Requires a lead with a standard 10amp plug. Unit is only 2.4m tall with supplied bin (130 litres). This machine has an approximate airflow of 1,000cfm and a very low noise level of 76 decibels. Steel impeller diameter: 368mm. Inlet size: 175mm. Filter cartridge surface area: 8m2. Unit footprint: 1 x 1.5m.
CT-703 3hp / 240volt Two Stage Cyclone Dust Extractor
Requires a lead with a 15amp plug or it can be hard wired by a licensed electrician. Unit is only 2.4m tall with supplied bin (130 litres). Also includes a bin extension that increases the overall height to 2.65m. This machine has an approximate airflow of 1,300cfm and a very low noise level of 83 decibels. Steel impeller diameter: 394mm. Inlet size: 200mm. Filter cartridge surface area: 10m2. Unit footprint: 1 x 1.5m. Shipping weight: 246kg. Also available in 3 phase 415 volt model (code ref: CT-703 3PH).
Optional two outlet reducer (200mm to 2 x 125mm) also available for use with model CT-703 machines (code ref: MR-2005).
Note:The CFM rating for two-stage cyclone dust extractors is less than that of single-stage extractors of the same power. This loss is due to the extra horsepower used in the first stage of the two-stage process. This is a worthwhile tradeoff for all of the advantages inherent in two-stage cyclones.
