A mortise can be square, rounded, or anything in between—any elongated hole earns the name. Our mortiser embraces that versatility, cutting rounded holes where tradition might expect corners. As for spelling, we like to keep things simple: mortiser with an “s.” Some prefer morticer with a “c,” but we’re not in the business of adding extras—whether it’s letters or complications.
