This single grit wheel will allow allow edge correction and edge shaping. Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) abrasive is a similar product to synthetic industrial diamonds. CBN is composed of nitrogen and boron and utilised as extremely hard crystals - second in hardness only to actual diamond. A single layer of CBN grit on the surface of a metal wheel can grind the hardest steel and last for many years. Our electroplated CBN grinding wheels are machined from solid steel, electroplated with a layer of CBN grit across their face and extending slightly down both sides. A CBN wheel is far better suited for sharpening high speed steels and will withstand the friction from grinding with much less heat produced than with a traditional Aluminium Oxide (White) or grey wheels. The fine 180G grinding surface is perfect for almost all sharpening tasks.You can sharpen your tools in the same way as you would with a conventional stone wheel on a standard bench grinder, or add this to our Carbatec GR-S200P Slow Speed Grinder for even cooler and simpler sharpening. Wheel speed can be anything up to 3000 rpm. Only minimal pressure is required. Suitible for use on Carbon & High Speed steel, cast iron and Stainless. Not designed for use on non-ferrous metals.
