Specified and built for school use:
This Laguna 14BX Bandsaw has been professionally upgraded to meet the specific safety and operational requirements set out by the NSW Department of Education. Modifications typically include upgraded switchgear, emergency stop systems, and enhanced safety controls to align with current school-based risk management standards. Each unit is inspected and approved for use in NSW school environments, ensuring compliance and peace of mind for educators and administrators.
Building upon the success of the 14/12 model, the 14BX has a similar specification but with a more powerful 2.5hp motor, twin extraction ports and solid one-piece frame constructed using a heavier gauge steel. A foot switch and disc braking system has also been added to more conveniently stop the saw and bring the motor to a virtually instantaneous rest. The premium build quality, large depth of cut and outstanding features will appeal to professional joinery shops everywhere.
These high-end features include a pyramid shaped spine that minimises any frame distortion when the blade is fully tensioned, ensuring cutting accuracy.
One of the most distinctive advantages of the Laguna bandsaw range over all other brands is the famous ceramic blade guide system. They create 10 points of contact on the blade allowing easy set up and highly accurate cuts even when re-sawing deep timber. Using long life ceramic guides allows for a much larger blade contact area than traditional bearing guides. The result is more support for the blade and greater cutting accuracy.
The braked motor provides enough power to operate at the full 330mm (13”) cutting depth. There is a quick blade release tension lever that makes blade changing faster and this is complimented with an easy to view blade tension scale indicator to easily ensure correct tension set up.
