A mortise is the recess cut into one piece, and a tenon is the projection on the other piece of wood. The Narex Mortise Chisel Blade is forged from high-quality Cr-V steel cryogenically processed and tempered to a minimum of 62HRc. Immediately after hardening, cryogenic treatment cools the steel down to an extremely low temperature, increasing the blade's hardness and durability. Your blade comes finely grounded and polished; the super-thin sides are suitable for even the finest of work. The beautiful hard ash wood handle has been sanded and hand-polished and features a solid stainless steel ferrule designed to withstand the heftiest blows.
