Our new Tungsten Carbide Tip Series sets are our offering in this very popular "replaceable tip scraper" tool style. All sets feature replaceable Tungsten Carbide cutters, mounted to Solid Stainless Steel shafts. These are coupled with Stainless Steel Ferrules and solid, smooth European Hardwood handles. They are even supplied in very 'giftable' black storage boxes, as shown.
This 4 piece medium/large set is for general purpose scraping work and is perfect for midi and full size lathes. We call them 'larger' as this set features longer blade shanks, as well as longer handles. Scrapers are popular due to the fine control one has over their work, providing a great finish with less risk of catching associated with other tools. Popular with pen turners and other craft based projects spindle projects, but equally suited to bowls and vessels.
The Tungsten Carbide tips hold an edge far longer than HSS, and can be rotated for a clean sharp edge - then replaced when required. This set features 4 tools - one 12mm Round TCT cutter; one 11mm x 28mm Round-Point Diamond detail TCT cutter; one 11mm Radius Edge Square TCT cutter; and one 11mm Flat Edge Square cutter. The shanks are laser etched, Solid Stainless Steel square bar stock mirror polished, 160mm in length, while the handles are also laser etched and 320mm in length.
