A drawknife is a traditional woodworking tool used for shaping wood by removing shavings. The Narex Carving Drawknife consists of a blade with two handles at either end, and is best used to carve or shave wood into a smooth, even surface. To correctly use this tool you will hold the handles and draw the blade toward yourself (hence the name "drawknife"), making long, controlled cuts along the grain of the wood. The straight carving drawknife is best used for pulling and pushing, it can also be used for shaping wood, planing or carving large areas.
The Narex Straight Carving Drawknife has a 150mm long blade made from high-quality Cr-V steel with a hardness of 57 HRc. This design ensures that the blade retains its sharpness for longer and can withstand the rigorous demands of carving tasks. The handles are made of Czech oak wood, oak species are recognised as being hard, durable and dense making your new Narex Drawknife overall a long-lasting hand tool.
