Designed for use in a hand brace, the Veritas pro reamer offers excellent control and good cutting capability by having the control with a slow rotational speed compared to that when used with a powered drill.

It is particularly useful for tapering through holes where you want to be able to wedge tenons, such as in chair construction. Featuring a cast steel alloy body and separate spring steel blade, the adjusting screws are used to set the blade ready for use.

When reaming out an existing holes of 11.1mm to 30mm in diameter  (7/16" to 1-3/16"), the depth can be adjusted for working soft or hard woods and the angle can be adjusted for tenon/socket fit. The body has an angle of 12.8° to match the tenons from Veritas Tapered Tenon Cutters when making chair leg socket joints.

At 143mm (5-5/8") overall length, it has a tapered square shank for use in a two jaw hand brace.

Blade is easy to sharpen.
