While factory blade and/or fence settings on your tablesaw are often good, they are not necessarily perfect. This can be the cause of much frustration with slight innacuracies in your resulting work. Aside from your first setup of a new tool, your machine will also require periodic setup adjustments due to movement caused by use and other environmental factors.The Magswitch Universal Saw Indicator is used to measure alignment of the table saw blade relative to the table (the miter slot) to allow for fine adjustment of blade parallelism in your setup. When adjusting fence spacing relative to the blade, it can also be used to measure very small changes in fence parallelism.Attach it to steel Mitre fences (which ride in the miter slot) or to ferrous table saw tables via a push-button style on/off magnetic switch. The metric dial indicator is attached via an adjustable slot, allowing it to slide to fit a wide variety of miter slot-to-blade spacings.A very accurate and useful setup tool.
