This is the answer to honing to honing and polishing a variety of cutters and blades.The Tormek Japanese Waterstone at 4000 grit gives such a smooth finish, honing on the leather honing wheel is not needed or recommended. Having such a fine grit, the wheel is designed only for honing, rather than shaping of the tool, it will not create a new bevel to a blade. The unique composition of the wheel means it will have a very long life. Cleaning should be done using the fine face if the Stone Grader regularly to ensure its maximum working potential. Do not use the coarse side of the Stone Grader on the Japanese Waterstone.
