Professional turning performance in a compact footprint designed for education and shared workshop environments.
The Laguna REVO 18|20 Short-Bed Wood Lathe has been purpose-built for the Australian education market, delivering the same strength, precision and performance as the popular REVO 18|36, but in a more space-efficient format. Ideal for schools, training centres, clubs and shared workshops, the compact design allows multiple machines to be installed side-by-side without sacrificing capability.
This Australian-specific model includes a heavy-duty adjustable steel dust hood and extraction hose, ready for connection to a workshop dust extraction system, helping maintain a cleaner and safer working environment.
Precision Engineering and Robust Construction
At the heart of the machine is a precision-ground ASTM A36 steel bed, offering greater durability and toughness than traditional cast iron designs. The extra-wide 208mm bed profile provides exceptional rigidity and allows smooth, stable movement of the headstock, tailstock and tool rest.
Power is supplied by a 2HP induction motor paired with a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), delivering excellent torque throughout the speed range, particularly at lower RPMs where control is critical. A simple one-lever belt tensioning system allows quick and intuitive speed range changes.
Ergonomic and User-Friendly Operation
The REVO 18|20 is designed for comfort and ease of use. An anodised aluminium control panel, combined with a knurled rubber-grip speed dial and blue-backlit digital speed display, allows operators to make accurate adjustments with confidence.
Heavy-duty cast iron headstock, tailstock and legs help minimise vibration, ensuring smooth turning performance even when working with larger or unevenly balanced blanks. Long-handled soft-grip cam lock levers provide secure locking and are positioned to stay clear of the operator during use.
Designed for Education and Safety
Built specifically for Australian schools and training facilities, this model incorporates CE-rated safety upgrades, including a tool-locking belt door that restricts access to moving components. Combined with the integrated dust hood system, these features make the machine well suited to educational and supervised workshop environments.
