Custom made in Australia, the i2R CNC Vacuum Table provides an elegant and secure solution for workholding on a CNC, especially for flat sheet work. Unlike traditional clamping methods, the vacuum table eliminates concerns about clamps or workpieces interfering with the cutting path, reducing the risk of damage to bits, spindles, or clamps.
Ideal for small-format CNC machines, these vacuum tables are a perfect match for the i2R A and i2R B Series CNC Machines, as well as other compatible CNC routers. Please note that vacuum tables are designed for holding larger flat sheets, not individual small parts, though small components can be cut from flat sheets with sufficient surface area.
Vacuum tables work by creating a pressure difference between the vacuum beneath the workpiece and atmospheric pressure. The hold-down force increases with the surface area of the part, ensuring a strong, stable hold. An MDF spoilboard can be placed on top to protect the table while still allowing the vacuum to hold the workpiece securely. Permeable materials or excessive through holes may reduce vacuum effectiveness.
The vacuum table replaces the standard MDF spoilboard included with your CNC, ensuring no loss of travel or clearance under the bridge. It measures 32mm deep with a 4mm MDF spoilboard, and provides 150mm of Z-axis travel.
