The range of Veritas® Detail Palm Planes adds a whole new scope of possibilities into the area of woodwork for the Luthier and woodworker wanting to add some detail to their work. There are four options available to suit most situations, Flat Palm, Concave Palm, Convex Palm and a Double Convex Palm. Each of these planes has an extendable handle, the 3/8” (9.5mm) gives that little bit of adjustment for those people with either larger or smaller grips. The soles are approximately 1-1/2" long by 5/8" wide (38mm x 16mm), with a bed angle of 45° and a fixed mouth that holds a 3/8” x 0.060” (9.5mm x 1.53mm) A2 steel blade. The concave and convex planes have curved soles with a side to side radius of 1/2" (12.7mm), this is a slight curve, but enough. The double convex plane features the same 1/2" (12.7mm) side to side radius and a 4" (102mm) front to back radius that allows it to get into bowls and other concave shapes.Made in Canada.
